Ghana Village
A multi-purpose building and private bathroom was built for villagers in Ghana, Africa.
In September of 2015, BIG continued its support of our sister village through our charitable STAR Foundation in Ghana, Africa, near the city of Akatski. After the completion of a fresh water well project in 2013, we used funding from the BIG Golf Classic Charity event in building a multi-purpose building to be used as a school, place of worship and community center for residents. The land of this project was donated by the village Elders, to whom we are incredibly grateful for helping us with this opportunity to help improve the lives of these people. The construction of this project began late in 2014 and was completed by September 2015. We then began construction of a large stand-alone restroom for the village in September which is positioned adjacent to the main building. Up until then, the village had never had a latrine.
